This event is a remembrance of the times when the time was indicated by gun fire. In those times the gun was fired three times a day to declare sunrise mid-day and sunset. The Malta Heritage Trust together with the Malta Tourism Authority in 2004 re-established this occurrence. The gun is fired everyday 12.oo at the Upper Baracca Gardens in Valletta except on the Good Friday, Easter, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
It will take around half an hour and the entrance is free of charge, however a donation of 1 euro would be appreciated to help finance the continuation of this small show.
