Cherry cake
Mix 250g margerine with 200g sugar; add four eggs beating well after each addition; fold in 325g plain flour (sieved), 1 tbs bicarbonate of soda, 1 tbs baking powder, some vanilla drops, add 200g cherries (which you would have mixed with some flour to prevent from sinking), and 4 tbs milk. Swirl in some rasberry jam. Bake in a moderate oven (170 fan electric) for one hour. Dust with icing sugar.
