Torta tat-tuffieħ (apple flan)
Line a dish with short-crust or olive oil pastry (no need to use sweet pastry); thinly slice four large apples; dust the base with some breadcrumbs and some cinnamon and ground cloves; layer the sliced apples to form a nice pattern, overlapping each other. Sprinkle with some sugar, some cinnamon and ground cloves; warm 4 tbs of jam in the microwave and drizzle over the apples. Bake in a moderate oven (electric fan 150 degrees) for about an hour.
