Majjal Bhal Fil-Forn by Patricia Azzopardi


Serves 2
  • 2 pork chops on the bone
  • 1/2 sliced green cabbage
  • 1 green apple(granny) grated
  • 2 onions thickly sliced
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 3/4 large potatoes thickly sliced
  • handfull of sultana
  • handfull of cranberries,
  • pinch of nutmeg, salt, pepper, and
    a pinch of smoked paprika
  • fennel seeds(optional)
  • 75/100ml water + olive oil


In a deep pan start layering the cabbage, top it up with bacon and grated apple, then the onions and chops.
top the chops with the potatoes, then add the water, salt, pepper and spices, drizzle with olive oil and finely top up with the fruit. Cook on low heat till potatoes are cooked and melted. Buon appetite.
