
This is an all time family favorite at our home. I make it using either lamb,beef or chicken minced meat ,used corned beef and even chopped cooked chicken breast . Also its a sure way that my sons eat vegetables so I add as much as I can. When Im pressed for time I ‘cheat’ and use instant mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:
- 750g minced meat of your choice
- Chopped veg ,eggplant,marrows,carrots ,peas
- cauliflower & broccoli florets .
- 1 can polpa
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 kg peeled ,diced and boiled potatoes
- 3eggs
- 1/2 cup milk or a small pkt of cream
- grated cheese
- 3 cloves garlic
- Worchestershire sauce & Hp sauce
- 1 teaspoon all spice
- 2 chopped onions
Method:
Using a pot ,fry the onions and add the all spice,the meat and let it cook ,add the finely chopped or squeezed garlic ,the veg and stir and let them fry a bit. Mix in the tomato paste and after the can of tomato polpa . A few dashes of Worchestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons Hp steak sauce and salt & pepper according to taste and let it simmer uncovered on low heat.
Mash the boiled potatoes,adding the milk or cream,beaten eggs and some of the grated cheese and seasoning .
Grease a dish with margarine and spread half the mashed potato ,then the meat & veg ,over it spread the remaining mashed potato .Sprinkle remaining grated cheese on top.
Bake in preheated 180C oven until the top is golden.
Tips: Sometimes I even add a layer of sauteed spinach .
