In Guardia Parade

he In Guardia Parade is a re-enactment that happens from time to time at Fort St. Elmo in Valletta. The re-enactment portrays an authentic episode that used to happen regularly inside the fort during the time of the Knights. Indeed, you can witness the inspection of the fort and the garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John, who was in charge of military affairs.

During the show,  all re-enactrs, around 70 of them, are dressed in their finest uniforms while they perform a military drill demonstrating to the Grand Bailiff that the garrison is ready to act in case there is a military threat. You can go around the fort only before the show starts, so we advise that you arrive at the Fort well before the In Guardia Parade starts.
