Torta ta San Martin


Torta ta San Martin.
300 g roasted nuts (I used walnuts) chop roughly.
Chop 3/4 pkt dates and 1 pkt dried figs
Grate orange and lemon rind
Preheat oven 180 C and grease and flour an oven dish.
Beat 2 egg whites until stiff then add 5 tablespoons sugar,2 egg yolks,4 tablespoons milk and 5 tablespoons sifted flour with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon and a pinch f ground cloves.
Add the chopped figs and dates and the chopped walnuts reserving some to sprinkle on top and mix well. Put in the prepared tin or tart dish. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts on top and i decorate with some glace cherries. Bake for about 30-45 minutes.
