Pulpetti tat-tonn (tuna patties)

I used to love pulpetti when I was a little girl and watching my mum make them and eating them as she fried them in batches. She used to make tuna,salmon and corned beef patties.These can be served with a salad,roast vegetables,rice salad ,couscous or pasta .


  1. 2 large tins tuna in brine or oil drained
  2. 6 potatoes boiled and mashed
  3. chopped parsley
  4. fresh or dried mint
  5. fresh or dried thyme
  6. 1 egg
  7. 4 cloves garlic
  8. 1 small onion very finely chopped
  9. seasoning
  10. flour


  • Mash potatoes in a bowl,add the other ingredients ,season according to taste and mix well.
  • Form the mixture into small balls and roll in flour and flatten in pattie shape. Place the patties on a floured tray or dish .
  • I shallow fry the patties but they can be baked.
  • If frying heat oil in a non stick frying pan and fry in batches .
  • To bake place on a greased or baking parchment lined dish or tray and bake in a mod oven
