Pancakes


I remember my mum when we were young she used to make us pancakes for breakfast or as a treat . With honey and lemon juice,maple syrup,jam or even just a sprinkle of sugar on top. My daughter loves them with Nutella . My mum gave me this recipe it makes thick pancakes not the thin ones.

Ingredients:

  • 11/2 cups flour 31/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 11/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine melted

 

Method:

  • Mix the milk,egg and butter in a bowl.
  • In another bowl sift the flour and baking powder,add the sugar and salt.
  • Pour the liquid over the flour mixture and whisk well until smooth.
  • Leave to stand for about an hour before cooking.
  • Choose a non stick frying pan to cook the pancakes.
  • Use a small ladle so all are about the same size.
  • When you heat the frying pan melt some butter or grease the pan with some butter .
  • Pour the ladle of batter and smooth it with bottom of ladle ,lightly.
  • When you see sort of air bubbles on top of pancake turn it over .
  • When ready put on a plate. Best served warm.
