Lamb,spinach,lentil & chickpea soup


This is a an Iraqi soup recipe. I made it with orange lentils but I usually use green lentils to make this. In a pot fry a chopped onion adding 1/2 teaspoon curry and 1/4 teaspoon ground lumi basra (dried lemon) optional if you do not have useDSCF9654 DSCF9653 1/2 teaspoon cumin. Add lamb pieces and brown . Add 1 cup lentils and fry a bit then add 1.5 ml stock or water. Season and add 1 cup ready cooked chickpeas or 1 tin and I added 2 cubes frozen thawed spinach approx. 1/2 cup.1/4 cup lemon juice and let it simmer until it thickens.
