Chicken,green lentil ,chickpea & veg soup


Saute a chopped onion,2 marrows,2 potatoes,2 carrots and celery stalks and I had centinarja (chayote). Add 1 teaspoon ras el hanout spice mix .Add diced chicken breast (I used half a chicken breast and added a back bone chicken piece for more flavor . Mix in 1 cup green lentils then add 2 tablespoons tomato paste and 1.75 ltr chicken stock and 1 can chickpeas and 1/2 teaspoon baharat spice mix DSCF1907 DSCF1896 DSCF1897 DSCF1898 DSCF1906. Let it simmer until the lentils are cooked and soup thickens.Season with salt and pepper and a pinch or two of zhoug spice mix from Dical House if you like a bit of heat and spiciness.If you want a thicker soup thicken with some polenta sprinkling a tablespoon at a time and stirring well or instant mashed potatoes.
