Basmati rice with mushrooms and peas


I onion chopped

2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms

1 cup shelled fresh peas

500g basmati rice

1ltr water

salt & pepper

Method :

Saute the onion in a large pot.

Add the mushrooms and peas and sate until mushrooms soften.

Add the rice and stir mixing it in  and cooking for a couple of minutes.

Pour in water ,add salt to taste and mix.

Cover with a lid and after it starts to boil put on low flame .

It will be ready when water has evaporated . Let it stand for about 5 minutes then fluff with fork and serve. This can be served hot or cold.
