L-IMNARJA Public Holiday, Food and Drink , Festivals , Family Entertainment

On this day, many Maltese people go to Buskett, where a large festival takes place.

The festival celebrates everything typically Maltese. From Maltese delicacies such as Hobz Biz-Zejt, Bigilla and Maltese wine to traditional Maltese entertainment, such as Ghana.

An animal exhibition is also set up, where rabbits, sheep, pigs and various other animals are put on show. Traditionally a priest also blesses the animals.

L-Imnarja is also a religious festival, as it is the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul.

The feast of St. Peter and St. Paul is also celebrated in Nadur, Gozo, this time in the usual festive manner that is normally held in towns and villages.
