[ September 8, 2012; ] This date remembers the end of the Great Siege of 1565, the end of the French utilization of Malta in 1800 and the truce of the Fascist regime in Italy 1943. There will be ceremonies all over Malta, and a contested rowing boat regatta is held in the Grand Harbour.
